Divorce Mediator Georgia Daniels, J.D. provides a much preferred alternative to traditional divorce
Divorce mediation is becoming an increasingly well known and widely accepted alternative to conventional divorce procedures
PASADENA, CA, January 05, 2009 /Marriage - Relationships PR News/ -- Divorce Mediator Georgia Daniels, J.D. provides a much preferred alternative to traditional divorce. Mediation is a voluntary and confidential process in which a neutral mediator helps people discuss difficult issues and negotiate an agreement. Mediation aims for positive solutions that address the needs of all parties involved.
"My work concentrates on divorce and related family matters" Daniels explains. "Mediation can address the whole range of family issues, from parenting, to child support, spousal support, and division of assets and debts, I am admitted to the bar in Oregon, but I am not a member of the California bar." Daniels emphasizes that "my work focuses exclusively on mediation, therefore relieving a lot of the stresses brought
on by conventional divorce".
Georgia Daniels shares that "my interest in divorce mediation began back in 1978, when I read an article about it in a newspaper. That article, along with other factors, prompted me to apply to law schools, but I got side-tracked into a more conventional legal career. I have been a Navy JAG officer, a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney, a lawyer in private practice (approximately one-third of my cases were in family law), and Assistant County Counsel for Jackson County, Oregon. I attended my first mediation training in 1990, and it changed the way I practiced law to a more collaborative approach ever since".
Divorce mediation is becoming an increasingly well known and widely accepted alternative to conventional divorce procedures. While there are several different styles of mediation, it is always a voluntary and confidential process designed to help couples work through their disputes and disagreements. Mediation is the least adversarial way to end a marriage in that couples are guided toward working out mutually fair and reasonable agreements.
A divorce mediator is a neutral party trained to assist couples in identifying the issues, communicating, and moving forward toward a resolution. A lawyer can be present during mediation or can be used as an advisor between sessions. However, Georgia Daniels explains "the goal is to reach agreements that work for both parties. Then the divorce mediator drafts a memorandum of agreement for both parties to review, which is then given to their attorneys for legal review. This agreement becomes the basis for an uncontested peaceful divorce."
While using the mediation services of Georgia Daniels, individuals maintain their self-respect, family relationships are protected, a foundation for continued co-parenting is established and the children benefit from reduced conflict. The focus is on the present and future, while strengthening commitment to a peaceful agreement. It also avoids public disclosure of personal matters, controls costs both financially and emotionally while saving money for all parties involved by sharing knowledge and working together within existing tax laws. An all around win-win situation is established.
